Humberto Carrillo
A slam-dunk to be a star on the main roster, Humberto Carrillo immediately looked like a man to watch on 205 Live when he started picking up wins. Carrillo has recently been the target of Andrade’s ire, but he actually broke up Andrade’s winning streak with two wins over El Idolo. One of those wins occurred on the pre-show of the TLC Pay Per View.
It shouldn’t be long before the talented grappler wins the United States Championship. He has the total package when it comes to his in-ring skills, charisma, athleticism, and presence. Carrillo caries himself like a star, and fans can expect him to get a major push in 2020.
Aleister Black
After the match Aleister Black put together with Buddy Murphy at TLC, everyone watching Raw should be familiar with the former NXT Champion. Black isn’t as much of a breakout star as Carrillo, since he’s had past main title success in NXT. But I consider him a breakout star, since he will make the leap from “quality mid-card guy on Raw” to “main eventer” next year.
Don’t be surprised if Black ends up rising up the ranks quickly, eventually winning a main title near the end of 2020. He has a captivating persona, excellent mic work, and an in-ring style that stands out from any other performer on the roster. Black’s entrance remains special, and The Black Mass ha the potential to become one of WWE’s most over finishers next year.
Paul Heyman seems ready to truly push Black over the course of 2020, so exciting times are ahead for the man who once tore down TakeOver Specials with Andrade, The Velveteen Dream, and Johnny Gargano.
