WWE Rumors: Could The Miz return to Raw in 2020?
The Miz is used to bouncing around brands during WWE’s Superstar Shakeups, but since his hit reality TV show, Miz and Mrs., is on the USA Network, he could be headed back to Monday nights in 2020.
There are few wrestlers in the world with the character range of The Miz, who recently shined as a sympathetic character in a rivalry with “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. The dynamic he has with Daniel Bryan is special, and it’s led to some great moments on SmackDown over the years.
When SmackDown reemerged with the 2016 brand split, The Miz was a key figure for the Blue Brand, ascending to superstar status with an infamous promo on Bryan on the hit show Talking Smack. He succeeded in making the Intercontinental Championship one of the most important titles in wrestling before moving on to Raw in 2017 after WrestleMania 33.
The Miz has been on SmackDown since WrestleMania 34, but he could be headed back to the Red Brand in 2020. According to Sportskeeda reporter Tom Colohue in another wonderful video update, The Miz has been “mentioned a lot” as someone who could switch brands.
And it’s for a simple reason. The Miz and Maryse’s hit show, “Miz and Mrs.”, is on the USA Network. Per Colohue, there’s a “preference” for Miz to be on Raw on the USA Network because of this.
Nothing is set in stone and The Miz is just one of the names Colohue is hearing backstage as a possible Shakeup swap, but it would make quite a bit of sense for Miz to move to Raw.
Beyond the seamless promotion for the USA Network, Miz could use another change in scenery after spending two years on SmackDown. More importantly, the Red Brand could benefit from this acquisition, as Miz tends to freshen up any brand he joins. He’s one of the best all-around superstars in WWE, as few can produce as consistently entertaining segments than The A-Lister, who is definitely a legendary talker in the company.
