1.) WWE Champion Brock Lesnar Enters The Royal Rumble

The last time the WWE Universe saw Brock Lesnar was Survivor Series 2019, where he retained the WWE Championship against Rey Mysterio. Ever since then, the WWE Universe has been wondering who could be his next challenger at WWE Royal Rumble 2020.

While some Raw superstars may come to mind as his next opponent for the sake of having an exciting match, there is so specific superstar who would make the utmost storyline sense for his opponent because everyone on Raw is fully invested in their own respective rivalries. Due to this investment, they have completely neglected the WWE Championship in the process.

Considering that the WWE Championship is WWE Raw’s most prized possession, it deserves more attention than that. In order to grab everyone’s attention, Brock Lesnar should be the first entrant into the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

Now, the sole purpose of winning the Royal Rumble match is to earn a main event championship match at WrestleMania against a main card champion of the winner’s choosing, so it is quite uncanny for the WWE Champion to even be in the Royal Rumble match. However, it had been done before with Roman Reigns in 2016 when he put his championship on the line in the Royal Rumble match and lost the championship to Triple H.

Just like it makes no storyline sense for any particular Raw superstar to battle Lesnar at the Royal Rumble this year, it did not make any storyline sense for any particular superstar to battle Reigns at the Royal Rumble in 2016. Henceforth, Lesnar should also put his WWE Championship on the line in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match this year to not only lure the attention to the WWE Championship and set higher stakes for the Men’s Royal Rumble Match but also solidify his future opponent at WrestleMania 36, if he were to be dethroned.

Paul Heyman can simply deliver his regular shtick about how no one is worthy enough to challenge the almighty Beast Incarnate for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble 2020 so the best solution is to just put the title on the line in the actual Royal Rumble match. However, there is one caveat to keep in mind: the brand split.

Unlike Reigns’ situation in 2016 where he was the only main card champion, putting Lesnar’s WWE Championship on the line will not only make Wyatt’s Universal Championship look rather weak in comparison but also make the Men’s Royal Rumble match very predictable in the sense that only Raw superstars could win the match.

In order to fix that, WWE should declare that the winner of the Royal Rumble match and the new WWE Champion will be automatically traded to Raw. That way, Raw will not be left without a main card championship and a SmackDown or NXT superstar, such as Kofi Kingston or Keith Lee, can sensibly win the match with no harm done to the logistics of the WWE championship system.
