Mia Yim

Baring anything unforeseeable, 2020 should be the year of the Head Baddie in Charge, Mia Yim. If NXT gives this story time to grow, Yim and Ripley could be the next great NXT rivalry. By the summer of 2020, The HBIC vs The Nightmare should main event TakeOver after TakeOver and take NXT to never seen before heights.

The smart thing is keeping these women far away from each other. This adds to the anticipation of their rivalry because fans will have seen both characters get stronger and become the two titans of NXT. Yim has shown a glimpse of her potential in that incredible ladder match that she had with Io Shirai. That match was the rare moment where you saw, in real time, the coming out party of a future main eventer.

The question is, which one of the wrestlers will turn into a villain in order to make this story stronger? This task can be done with a match between both wrestlers, as fan favorites, and while Ripley is victorious, she continues the onslaught of a helpless Yim.

Doing so adds to the sympathy that the fans feel for Yim, and enhance their disdain for Ripley. After a few weeks absence to maximize the impact from the attack by Ripley, Yim can return to NXT to exact revenge on the champion.

They can trade promos leading up to a match, where Yim puts her NXT contract on the line to face Ripley in a steel cage for the NXT Women’s Championship. Yim can finally overcome the odds and defeat The Nightmare and win the NXT Women’s Championship.
