Ring of Honor must really want The Villain to re-sign with them, as they are reported to have offered Marty Scurll the equivalent to a WWE paycheck.

Marty Scurll’s contract with Ring of Honor recently ran out, but he is currently still making appearances for ROH as a free agent on a per appearance basis. He’s also making appearance for NWA on the side. Despite not technically, officially being an ROH contracted employee, he is listed as a name expected to make an appearance at the company’s Supercard of Honor show happening WrestleMania weekend.

It seems as though not only is Ring of Honor confident in re-signing the former ROH Six Man Tag Team Champion, but they are adamant about keeping him.

According to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter (per a report from WrestlingInc), ROH have offered the founder of Villain Enterprises “WWE main roster money,” as in the equivalent to a deal that a WWE Superstar may have.

The deal offered to the former ROH Television Champion will have him work a reduced schedule of 40 dates per year, along with other perks and monetary gains. It is unknown at the time of this writing if Scurll accepted or declined the deal, but it is also being reported that this is a bigger, better deal than received by Matt Taven.

Taven, who recently lost the ROH World Championship some months back, re-signed with the company back in September and his contract is said to not only be double the amount that the highest paid Superstar in NXT makes, but there is an option for that deal to be tripled by the end of the year.

Clearly, it sounds like ROH is pulling out the big guns just to continue working with Scurll. Again, we don’t know if he accepted such a deal yet, but we will keep you posted on any future updates as they arise.
