IMPACT Wrestling Hard to Kill: Results, Highlights and Grades

The North (c) vs. Willie Mack – World Tag Team Championship

Mack and Josh Alexander start, but Alexander immediately tags to Ethan Page. Alexander slaps Mack on the back before tagging back to Page. They keep tagging each other in and out for the sake of mind games and reinforcing what Mack can’t do – tag out.

Frustrated, Mack turns his back, only for both men to blindside him. They launch him against the ropes, but Mack double clotheslines both men. Big splash to Alexander, then an enzuigiri to the legal man. Mack goes to suicide dive Alexander, but Page halts Mack. A distracted Mack gets blindsided by Alexander.

Another tag to Page, this time with a double team move. Stomp by Page as he goads Mack about not being able to tag out, right before tagging Alexander. Mack blocks a suplex attempt, trying to hit one of his own, but Page pulls Alexander down, allowing Alexander to hit a suplex. Alexander with a sleeper hold as Swann watches on from a tv monitor backstage.

Alexander lets go of the sleeper to stomp on Mack’s face before tagging to Page. Page stomps a mudhold into Mack. Mack is whipped into the corner, but gets enough air to DDT Page. Page tags out to Alexander, but Mack continues the beatdown on both men in a comeback spot; clotheslines to both men in opposite corners.

Mack kips up to go for a standing moonsault, but Page pulls Alexander out the way. Mack shoves Page into Alexander. As Page rolls out, Mack powerbombs Alexander. He pins him, but Page breaks it up. Mack tosses him back out.

Huge forearm by Mack in the corner to Alexander. Alexander finds an opening to kick Mack in the face, but Mack responds with an exploder suplex for a two count. Kicks Page off the apron. Alexander slams Mack into the corner before tagging Page for a double team slam. Mack kicks out with a nearfall.

Tag back to Alexander. They seat Mack on the top rope, seemingly for a double suplex off the top. Mack instead fights them off. Headbutts Page off. Forearms Alexander onto Page’s shoulder for a Canadian Destroyer off of Page’s shoulders! Which, deservingly, the crowd chant “HOLY S***!”

Mack sends Page outside and hits a tope out the ring. Runs back in the ring and hits a Six Star Frog Splash. Right before Mack can get the three count, Page pulls the ref out the ring. Page begs the ref to DQ them, but the ref refuses as Mack chases Page. Mack hits a Stunner on Page, but can’t hit one on Alexander. Back to back superkicks on Mack before hitting their finisher for the win.

Winner: The North

Grade: B+

Man, this match was awesome. Story was very well told and Mack looked like a million bucks while, as always, The North were an excellent heel duo.
