Viking Raiders (c) vs. Authors of Pain [Raw Tag Team Championships]

The Viking Raiders are amazing wrestlers and have entertaining promos. However, their continual destruction of jobbers week after week is getting repetitive and boring and thereby destroying the prestige of the Raw Tag Team Championships. That is, if there’s any prestige left to destroy

Clearly, the Raw Tag Team Division always takes a backseat in WWE booking and the Raw Tag Team Champions need to actually fight a tag team their own size or, in more diplomatic terms, a more challenging tag team. The Viking Raiders ran through The O.C., Edge Heads, The Street Profits, and the Singh Brother, but why have they not yet battled the Authors of Pain?

If Viking Raiders defeat AOP, there would be no one else for them to face and they would be immersed back into the same cycle of beating jobbers every week. For the sake of the Raw Tag Team Division’s future, it’s safe to avoid this.

Now that the Authors of Pain are in the main event scene with Seth Rollins, the WWE needs to strike while the iron is hot and crown AOP with the Raw Tag Team Championships. That way, those championships also enter the main event scene and gain some prestige back.

Prediction: Authors of Pain

The New Day (c) vs. John Morrison and The Miz [SmackDown Tag Team Championships]

On Friday Night SmackDown, The Miz declaimed that he respected the ‘six’ months Kofi Kingston held the WWE Championship as much as he respected the ‘six’ seconds it took Kofi Kingston to lose it. Although it was actually eight seconds, it was a pleasant sound byte.

With nefarious assistance from John Morrison in fending off Big E at ringside, The Miz was then able to pick up a victory over the former WWE Champion to solidify his heel turn on The New Day from the previous week. Conveniently, John Morrison is now scheduled to battle Big E for his match back on Friday Night SmackDown this week.

Thanks to that ‘awesome’ sound byte and their consistent matches in recent weeks, a tag team championship match between The New Day and The Miz and John Morrison should be in store for the WWE Universe at WWE Royal Rumble 2020. This Mania worthy match has the potential to steal the show at the Royal Rumble this year.

Although The New Day are fantastic tag team champions, a John Morrison return and a renewed Miz heel run should warrant them tag team gold. As always, the WWE should capitalize on popular demand to keep things interesting, especially on the road to WrestleMania 36.

Prediction: John Morrison and The Miz
