While many of us expected Kalisto to exit WWE following some eyebrow raising tweets, he swerved us, bro, by signing a new multi-year contract extension.

Some readers may recall that a few months ago during the summer that former WWE United States Champion Kalisto had teased on Twitter that he would become a free agent within the next 10 months. While his tweet has since been deleted, Braun Strowman was quick to wish Kalisto good luck (or, lack thereof) to his happy trails in a tweet of his own.

However, The Monster Among Men will have to retract his adios in light of news that Kalisto will not be leaving the company any time soon after all.

Per Pro Wrestling Sheet, Kalisto has now signed a multi-year contract extension with the WWE. No word yet on exactly how many years the contract will last. Sources close to the situation have said the reason inspiring him to re-sign was the feeling that he simply still has a lot left to accomplish in WWE.

Along with being a two time US Champ, Kalisto has won the NXT Tag Team Championship with Sin Cara (another former Superstar who just had his release granted recently) as well as a former Cruiserweight Champion.

While he has done nothing too notable in the last couple years while focusing on tag team competition, a new contract extension may mean a renewed push for one-third of Lucha House Party.

Which, speaking of, let’s not forget that Kalisto’s buddy, Gran Metalik (another Lucha House Party member) also teased his own impending contract status, which seems to be ending around the same time that Kalisto’s last contract would have ended, per Metalik’s own tweet.

It is unknown if Gran Metalik has or plans to get a contract extension of his own, but we will keep you posted and provide updates as they arise.
