Royal Rumble 2020: 3 legends we want to see in the Men’s Rumble
By Donny Starr
Every Royal Rumble fan hopes to see WWE Legends in the match. This year is no different. Here are three realistic prospects that might show up.
The WWE Royal Rumble has become more about the surprise entrants rather than who actually wins the event. There’s nothing wrong with that. It just keeps everyone on the edge of their seats as the clock winds down, followed with that suspenseful silence until you hear the entrance music.
It’s almost a guarantee this year’s 30 entrants will have a few legends among them. Last year’s Royal Rumble featured Jeff Jarrett entering at #2. In the 2018 Royal Rumble John Cena entered at No.20, Hurricane Helms entered at No.21, and Rey Mysterio entered at No.27. In 2017, The Undertaker made an appearance only and was eliminated by Roman Reigns, which blew the lid off the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
For 2020, the story entering the Rumble is Brock Lesnar. His advocate Paul Heyman announced earlier this month that WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will be the first entrant into the Rumble. This is significant because Lesnar hasn’t had to deal with competition on this level in a long time. In fact, the last time Brock was in a Royal Rumble was 2017. He was the 26th entrant and lasted four minutes and 30 seconds before he was eliminated by Goldberg. Last year he faced Finn Balor in Singles competition for the WWE Universal title, which he successfully defended. In 2018, he successfully defended the Universal Title against Braun Strowman and Kane.
So could a WWE legend make an impact on whether or not Brock survives the entire match? Forbes Contributor Brian Mazique reported that as of Jan. 17th, there are still a few slots left in this year’s Royal Rumble, which means there is a good chance the WWE Universe will get some surprises. Here are three WWE Legends that could tear the house down and make the Rumble one to remember. Who knows, maybe they can eliminate Lesnar!
