WWE Raw Reunion - Stone Cold Steve Austin
LAS VEGAS, NV – JANUARY 08: Actor and WWE personality “Stone Cold” Steve Austin appears at a news conference announcing the WWE Network at the 2014 International CES at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas on January 8, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The network will launch on February 24, 2014 as the first-ever 24/7 streaming network, offering both scheduled programs and video on demand. The USD 9.99 per month subscription will include access to all 12 live WWE pay-per-view events each year. 2. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin

WrestleMania 19 was Steve Austin’s last match. Besides his podcast The Steve Austin Show and his new TV show Straight Up Steve Austin that premiered last Summer on USA Network, he’s still a busy man.

However, he always finds time to get some WWE action. Last year, he returned to Madison Square Garden to oversee the contract signing between Seth Rollins and Braun Stowman for the Universal Championship at Clash of Champions.

The prior year he showed up for Raw’s 25th Anniversary. Has he ever turned down ideas of a return? Yes. That was due to neck and knee issues, which have been well documented over the years.

Why Would He Enter The Royal Rumble?

Steve Austin has a heart for giving, and not just Stunners. In a 2019 interview with Scott Fishman (via TV Insider), Steve didn’t say no, but wants the opportunity to be more than just a one-off match.

He said, “I’ve been away for a long time. I always like to say I want the current superstars to have all the television time, but if I can go out there and give someone a rub. Or if I can get out there in front of a crowd that is still around when I was still active who want to see me again, that’s a cool feeling too.”

To hear that glass break one last time, or maybe few more times after the Royal Rumble would be any WWE fan’s dream. Would he perform at an Attitude Era level? Probably not.

Then again, this is Steve Austin we’re talking about. Steve doesn’t have put in a great deal of work to make a feud famous, and it would boost WWE’s Monday Night RAW ratings. Let’s not forget Austin entering the Rumble would add a little shock value, considering Brock Lesnar will be in the ring as well.
