WWE: Why Bianca Belair should beat Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Title
By Kyla Hessler
Bianca Belair recently won the women’s Battle Royal match on NXT to become the number one contender for Rhea Ripley’s WWE NXT Championship.
The EST of NXT, Bianca Belair, and the current NXT Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley, are scheduled to face off at NXT TakeOver: Portland for the gold on Feb. 16, 2020. At NXT TakeOver: Portland the WWE Universe will watch as Bianca Belair is crowned the new NXT Women’s Champion.
Bianca Belair deserves to come out as the new NXT Women’s Champion. Not only has she shown the characteristics of a great champion (like having extreme confidence, learning from her mistakes, and never giving up), but Belair has the grit, perseverance and stamina to keep up with the best of the best.
Belair has had her fair share of wins and losses in matches, but has never fell shy of providing an outstanding performance. Indeed, in every match that Belair wrestles in, her impressive physical strength and skills are always on display. Belair’s impressive physique and strength, alone generally gives her a one up against any woman she faces, not to mention that Belair is a sight for sore eyes.
Belair has been chasing gold now for a little over two and a half years since her NXT television debut back in May of 2017 when she was a part of a Battle Royal to determine the next competitor for the NXT Women’s Championship. Even though Belair was eliminated by The IIconics, she continued to move towards her goal of becoming NXT Women’s Champion, night after night. This is enough justification as to why it Belair’s time to shine.
Not only does Belair have the charisma, stage presence, looks, and stamina to be a reigning champion, but The EST of NXT deserves it as well.
The EST of NXT has not only been patient, but she has shown the world time and time again exactly why she deserves to be a champion. Belair even used the catchphrase “UN-DE-FEA-TED!” because she wanted to remind everyone that this is exactly what she was.
Belair remained undefeated for 367 days, before being defeated by former NXT Women’s Champion, Shayna Baszler at NXT TakeOver: Phoenix (thanks to some assistance from Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir).
Since then Belair has gone after the gold on several occasions, but has unfortunately succumb to her opponents each time.
Two and a half years of chasing championship gold is exactly why Belair deserves to win the gold at NXT TakeOver: Portland. Although Bianca Belair has come up short on earning the title in the past, she has shown the entire WWE Universe the tenacity she has as a competitor. It’s officially the EST of NXT’s time to call herself the NXT Women’s Champion as she has certainly put in the work to earn her spot.
The fact of the matter is that Rhea Ripley’s popularity with the WWE Universe is what catapulted her to her swift NXT Women’s Championship title reign and, in turn, it can be said that Ripley may have jumped the line a bit thanks to her fame.
By no means is this stating that Ripley didn’t earn the title fair and square because she definitely did, especially after accomplishing so many career milestones in such a short period of time and increasing her stock along the way.
However, while wrestlers like Belair have worked their butts off on the show for years trying to earn the title, Ripley swoops in and does so after just four months of her NXT TV debut.
Bianca Belair has proved night after night that she is arguably the best wrestler on the NXT roster. Once she has the championship, she will prove to us why she is the rightful owner.
Bianca Belair has the potential to hold a title reign with a cause, as she shows women – young and old around the world – that you should never dim your light in order to let others shine. You should always be yourself, perform to the best of your abilities, try to be preeminent against your competitors, and never give up. Strive for your goals everyday, until the day comes when you hit the bullseye.
Belair speaks success and greatness into existence for herself, which is exactly why she has thrived so long in NXT.
Bianca Belair is not only the fastest, strongest, and toughest female wrestler on the NXT roster, but she also is the all around best and she will prove this at NXT TakeOver: Portland when she defeats the current champion, Rhea Ripley, for the gold.
