Sasha Banks is the GOAT. It’s a sentiment echoed by many WWE fans who have watched “The Legit Boss” own the wrestling world over the past five years, and it’s also one endorsed by her tag team partner Bayley.

In NXT, Sasha Banks and Bayley changed the course of history in WWE by putting on two of the greatest matches the company has ever seen. To this day, their match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn is regarded by many as the greatest women’s wrestling match of all-time, as it still conjures up raw emotions for fans rewatching the match in 2020.

The mutual respect between Banks and Bayley is incredible, and they could be on a collision course for their first PPV match since their days in NXT. And if it were to happen, it would happen for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36.

In an interview with talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy, who has been on fire lately, Bayley confirmed that she would love to face Sasha in the main event of WrestleMania for her SmackDown Women’s Title.

And she also called Sasha the GOAT:

"“Not my fault! [they haven’t fought on PPV]. I would love to, I would love to. She is obviously the best ever, in my opinion. The best to ever do it. But, I guess, if her ankle is OK for the Rumble on Sunday after what Lacey Evans did to her on SmackDown, I would love to see her win the Royal Rumble match. Then I could go on and beat Lacey and maybe we could have that big old main event that we deserve [at WrestleMania].”"

Bayley also offered praise for Io Shirai, calling the former STARDOM ace a “close second” to Banks when it comes to the best wrestlers in the world. It’s hard to argue against them being in the top two, given all they’ve accomplished over the years.

Maybe “The Role Model” is biased with her praise for Sasha, but the Boss’ resume speaks for itself. She has put on classics with Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, and Becky Lynch during her time in WWE, with her matches against Rousey and Lynch last year being two of the best bouts of 2019.

Banks’ promo work is legendary, especially when she’s a heel. Her promos and acting in the build to her matches with Rousey and Lynch helped make those two title bouts carry a “big fight feel” unlike any other matches on their respective cards.

So follow your “Role Model”, Sheep and recognize Sasha Banks as the GOAT. And if you don’t, you’d better name Io Shirai at the top of your list. (I kid, I kid, like who you like and all that jazz…)
