Similar to Angel Garza as mentioned earlier, Ricochet’s career seemed a bit up in the air last week. Sure, he played a part in Brock Lesnar being eliminated from the Royal Rumble match, but he was also low blowed by Lesnar the previous week and did not even appear on Raw the following week.
Before last night, it was unclear what Ricochet could be doing going forward on the road to WrestleMania, yet alone at the Mania show in general. There was always a hope that he could somehow get himself a title match with Brock Lesnar, but the thought seemed more like a pipe dream than something that the brass up top would make into a reality.
Last night, that dream became a reality and Mr. One and Only hit the jackpot by earning himself a title shot.
Granted, the shot itself will take place at the much criticized Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia, but the fact that Ricochet was even considered backstage for a match with the WWE Champion at any show is a blessing in disguise for his career moving forward. It’s a huge opportunity for him, at that.
In one night, Ricochet was able to win big and for the next few weeks at least, his future looks bright.
