MJF vs Cody

While the match itself has yet to be officially announced yet, Cody is inching closer and closer towards getting the match that he wants. He already has lived up to his end of the bargain of not putting his hands on MJF before the PPV. And as we saw on the last episode of Dynamite, he has already endured the belt lashings without retaliation.

The only stipulation that Cody needs to live up to now is to beat MJF’s bodyguard, Wardlow, in a Steel Cage Match on next week’s Dynamite. While how he’ll do so remains to be a question answered (maybe he’ll pin/submit the big man, or he could just drop himself out of the cage to escape), it seems all but confirmed that MJF vs. Cody will happen.

There has been far too much investment from fans in this feud for it to not end up happening. Cody vs. MJF has enough fan investment that it has proven to be a main event worthy contest before either of these men have duked it out.

However it goes down, as badly as some fans may want The American Nightmare to get his paws on the pompous New York blowhard, I can’t imagine a scenario where MJF does not get the win.

Now, I’m not an AEW booker so I don’t know exactly what scenario would get a W into MJF’s column, but a win over the exec would make MJF the credible heel that the company’s main event picture needs. This could be a huge breakout moment for MJF if AEW let it happen.

Winner: MJF
