Murphy

WWE will definitely load a hypothetical Elimination Chamber match centered around a title-holding Brock Lesnar with as much star power as possible, but Paul Heyman will also be careful to throw in some up-and-coming stars who can add to this match.

Murphy would be a dream addition. Firstly, the Murphy and Seth Rollins story is a slow-burn story of someone turning. Whether it’s Murphy or Rollins doing the turning, we don’t know. But given what WWE had planned for Jason Jordan when he originally won the titles with The Architect and what ended up happening between Dean Ambrose and Seth, it’s clear that this won’t end happily ever after. I mean, it’s pro wrestling. Someone has to turn on someone, right?

WWE won’t do the turn so quickly, of course. This is ideally a SummerSlam feud. But they will plant seeds near the end of the match after Murphy and Rollins initially work perfectly together to run the table.

Murphy is someone Heyman is high on, and it seems like Vince McMahon is behind Murphy, too. After all, he is a former Cruiserweight Champion who has put on big-time matches with Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan on SmackDown and is now in Raw’s main event scene.

Lesnar works really well with athletic, agile wrestlers, and Murphy is a special athlete who has the quickness of a Cruiserweight and the strength of a heavyweight. He’s like Cedric Alexander in the sense that he’s right in that sweet spot where he can be either for WWE. Look for him to have a massive night if he gets the opportunity to be at WWE Elimination Chamber 2020.
