1. Bobby Lashley has earned this match

Bobby Lashley is one of the most accomplished wrestlers on the planet. I know that sounds like a borderline blasphemous statement to fans who have seemingly only been following Lashley’s work over the past two years in WWE, but as anyone who watched him in TNA/Impact Wrestling can attest, Lashley is indeed the real deal.

He was the top star for the United States’ No. 2 promotion, holding the world title a whopping four times and the X Division Championship once. Lashley exuded an understated confidence on the mic as either a wholesome babyface or an arrogant heel. Before he exited the company for WWE in 2018, Lashley had a series of matches with Brian Cage on television that were absolutely jaw-dropping and helped put over Cage as a rising star.

Lashley has been open about his reason for returning to WWE despite the risk of being booked poorly, which has indeed happened. He told Sportskeeda’s Gary Cassidy that he came back to the company for a match with Brock Lesnar. That’s it. Everything else – all the stupid hoops he’s had to jump through – is to get to this match.

And he’s had to deal with some garbage. Remember the transphobic “sisters” segment with Sami Zayn? Or how about this bizarre, problematic storyline with Lana and Rusev?

Lashley is an amazing pro wrestler who would absolutely knock a rivalry with Lesnar out of the park. Both men are still on the Raw brand, which Paul Heyman runs, so there’s hope he can finally get this match. And if he does, don’t be surprised if it is one of Lesnar’s best feuds.
