Whereas Jeff Hardy and John Cena qualify as “dream” options rather than more realistic ones for Roman Reigns’ opponent on Friday, Big E is in a similar boat to Kofi Kingston as the former WWE Champion’s tag team partner. Both men could conceivably team up with Reigns to pop the crowd, put on a great match, and build more towards the big-ticket SmackDown Tag Team Title feud between The New Day and The Dirt Sheet.
The SmackDown Tag Team Division is buzzing again with The Usos back, The New Day as champions, and The Dirt Sheet reunited. Even if The Revival leave for AEW, SmackDown still has Heavy Machinery and the potentially emerging duo of Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. (That could be such a great stable with Sami Zayn if WWE takes them seriously enough!)
Big E and Roman Reigns would be a dream tag team for one night. Both men have wild spears, have ridiculously high in-ring IQs, and are among the most powerful wrestlers in the world. They are also incredibly charismatic, so the dynamic between them as tag team partners against Miz and Morrison could be special.
