New reports regarding The Fiend and his WWE Universal Championship challenger, Goldberg, tell us all we need to know about who could win.

We learned last week that the next time that WWE have a show in Saudi Arabia, The Fiend will be making his presence known. Not only that, but he will be defending his Universal Championship against none other than WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg.

This immediately struck fear into the hearts of many fans because they remembered that it was around this very time three years ago, right before WrestleMania, that Goldberg challenged for the Universal Championship and won by unseating Kevin Owens of his six month reign. The majority of fans believed that Owens should not have lost the title until Mania and the same perception seems to be the case for Bray Wyatt.

On the surface, this does not spell good news for The Fiend and his title as the clock continues to tick down to WrestleMania 36, especially to those who find it unlikely that a legend would willingly lay down for a Halloween cartoon character in a mask. However, if current reports are to be believed, The Fiend’s title may not be in as much jeopardy as it seems.

Professional insider Tom Colohue spoke on his Dropkick DiSKussions podcast for Sportskeeda to talk about the match and detailed that from what he’s been told, Goldberg is more than happy to take a pinfall loss to The Fiend, and a quick one at that.

In addition, Colohue speculated that one of the aspects of WWE negotiating for this match is that the former Universal Champion had to be okay with being booked to lose to The Fiend in typical quick fashion if the decision boiled down to that.

Of course, nothing is set in stone for now. We’ll have to wait and see if WWE decide to book The Fiend to retain or to produce a shocker.
