After dominating the WWE for over a year now, it may be time for The Man to walk away and in turn, time for her title reign to end at WrestleMania 36.

Recent rumors have suggested that Shayna Baszler could be Becky Lynch’s challenger to the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 36 this coming April and after a bloody good segment (pun intended) from this past Monday, it seems that those rumors may be true.

The building blocks are beginning to set up to make Shayna Baszler vs. Becky Lynch a reality, but even newer rumors are suggesting that perhaps Mania will serve as a coronation for Baszler rather than another retain for The Man.

The rumors in question suggest that Becky Lynch could be taking time off after this upcoming WrestleMania is all said and done. The reasons, apparently, would be because Lynch and her fiance Seth Rollins both hope to take time off to get married and then honeymoon.

Tom Colohue and Korey Gunz of Sportskeeda’s Dropkick DiSKussions addressed these rumors on their podcast. Colohue in particular has heard whispers of discussions regarding Lynch’s potential vacation from backstage sources, all though he made a point to highlight that everything he’s heard is “nothing concrete at the moment.”

In theory, it would make sense for Baszler to be the one to take the title off of Lynch at Mania. Not only because Lynch is supposedly taking a break after the show is over, but because beating such a dominant champion would be the easiest way to immediately position Baszler as a top star on Raw from the jump.

It makes just as much sense for Lynch to take time off now after her gears have been spinning nonstop on and off camera – both in wrestling and in media appearances – as a Ms. No Days Off. She more than deserves time to rest after the last year.
