Aleister Black

The undefeated Aleister Black looks poised for a main event push at some point in 2020, and there were rumors that some were eyeing Black as Brock Lesnar’s main event challenger for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36 in Tampa. However, WWE opted with the safer option in Drew McIntyre, who edged out Roman Reigns for a memorable Royal Rumble victory.

Despite Black’s lack of success in the Rumble, the former NXT Champion will hold a singles title on the main roster soon enough. He showed his talent last year before WrestleMania 35 as a call-up from NXT, teaming up with Ricochet.

This year, Black could hold the United States Title, keeping up his undefeated streak. The issue is that since Black is being built up so much, WWE may want to keep him away from the mid-card title, as they did with McIntyre before his big win this year at the Rumble.

Ideally, that’s what they would do with Black. Have him rack up wins before getting his hands on a world title opportunity.

But WWE isn’t an ideal world. There are limited spots, things change (such as Andrade’s suspension), and you have to take the big wins where you can get them. So don’t be surprised if Black emerges from the shadows to pick up a United States Title victory over Andrade and holds the championship for a long time.
