Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Dakota Kai (w/ Raquel Gonzalez) – NXT Women’s Championship

Dakota Kai’s heel run has been an interesting run to behold. Not only because she has exceeded expectations in many ways, but due to some recent developments. Last night during her Street Fight with Tegan Nox, Raquel Gonzalez (formerly Reina) made her official debut after some one-off appearances on TV and house shows.

She did so by helping Kai win and appeared to emerge as her new muscle going forward. Which is interesting, because long prior to her win as NXT Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley used to tag team at NXT live events frequently with Gonzalez. In fact, one glance at their social medias tells us that the two are great friends in real life.

If Kai’s win last night was used to set up a bout for TakeOver against the champ, aligning with her best pal certainly intensifies the rivalry moving forward. In many ways, before it has even kicked into high gear yet, the rivalry between Ripley and Kai technically is already at a high intensify, keeping in mind that Ripley picking Mia Yim over Kai for WarGames is what initially started Kai’s heel turn.

This feud could boil at the next TakeOver.
