Sheamus

Cesaro’s former tag team partner would also make a great opponent for Braun Strowman. Sheamus didn’t have to feud with The Fiend to revert to a past version of himself, as he’s sporting the hair and gimmick from a handful of years ago.

But sometimes throwing things back and adding a twist can be what’s needed for a veteran performer to feel rejuvenated. Sheamus’ in-ring work with Cesaro was exemplary, as The Bar regularly stole the show on SmackDowns.

So Sheamus can go in the ring. He’s still a great athlete and has plenty of strength, which makes him an intriguing opponent for Braun. Sheamus is as tough as they come and will be willing to cut corners to win the Intercontinental Championship and get one step closer towards being the singles competitor he was in the prime of his career.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sheamus ends up being Strowman’s opponent at WrestleMania 36 if a multi-man match isn’t in the plans, so to speak. They seem like a perfect match, and Sheamus could really put over Strowman as a champion.

The one issue is that WWE likely want to protect Sheamus a little bit, since he only returned with this “new/old” gimmick a couple of months ago. But Strowman is the champion and more important as a big star in the long term. So that must be weighed here.
