Smack: THE BOSS IS BACK

Sasha. Banks. Is. Back.

Suffice it to say I’m a big fan of “The Boss,” and it’s great to see her back after suffering an ankle injury. Best of all, she looked like she has been wrestling at every show as there really were no visible signs of rust. Banks’ return gives a much needed injection of star power into the SmackDown women’s division.

After a week where the women’s division left me feeling indifferent, tonight was a step in the right direction. Rather than acting like we forgot about the history between Banks and Evans, Evans made the save when Banks helped Bayley engage in a 2-on-1 beating of Naomi.

Further, while her face “turn” was tepid at best, her promos, in-ring work, and victories seems to have caught on with the fans as she keeps receiving good pops. Banks as the bonafide heel against Evans as the military momma face should make for an emotional story when they meet (which was the plan before her injury).

A slight nitpick with Evans is I believe she should change her gear. It is pretty much the same gear she had as a heel with the colors corresponding to the respective show. Since WWE keeps reminding us of her military background, what about military-inspired gear? This doesn’t mean it has to be camouflage. It could be another way to build fan support for Evans.

Also, look at the height of the bump Naomi took on the backstabber from Banks:
