WWE Rumors: Dolph Ziggler vs. Otis to happen at WrestleMania 36?

Otis Dozovic and Dolph Ziggler are developing a rivalry on Friday Night SmackDown after The Show-Off stole the Heavy Machinery wrestler’s date at a restaurant. It looks like the big match could happen at WWE WrestleMania 36.

At the WWE Elimination Chamber Pay Per View on Mar. 8, Otis and Dolph Ziggler will get a chance to advance their rivalry inside the chamber match with the titles on the line. John Morrison and The Miz must defend the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against the tag teams of The New Day, The Usos, Heavy Machinery, The Lucha House Party, and Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

Ziggler and Roode may have a budding rivalry after the duo used classic heel tactics to enable Roode to defeat former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston on the Feb. 28 episode of SmackDown, but Ziggler should be more worried about Otis.

With Otis, the rivalry is personal. Ziggler stomped all over the fruit cake that Otis’ mother baked for Mandy Rose, who has been Otis’ love interest for some time. Ziggler then swooped in and took Otis’ place when he was supposed to have a date with Mandy at a restaurant.

While Tucker Knight has encouraged his tag team partner to forget about Mandy and focus on getting adoration from the WWE Universe, it’s clear that Otis won’t be forgetting what Dolph has done to him any time soon. And tensions should be escalated inside of a high-stakes Elimination Chamber match.

According to the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, via Cageside Seats’ Rumor Roundup, Otis vs. Ziggler is being planned for WWE WrestleMania 36 in Tampa.

At one point, it seemed like Ziggler and Otis would clash at the Elimination Chamber PPV in Philadelphia, but it appears WWE want to build towards this by advancing their feud in a tag team title match inside the chamber.

WWE have probably seen all the reactions to this storyline and want to turn it into something more.

The WrestleMania card will likely have 16 matches as it did last year, so Otis vs. Dolph could be a strong candidate for a fun pre-show match that serves as a change-of-pace from the rest of the card. Ziggler could really put over Otis with an A-plus selling performance, as Otis has become quite popular among fans during this storyline.

There’s no guarantee this match happens at the Show of Shows, but Vince McMahon could see it as a part get-over, part comedy match to help Otis after his storyline took off on Friday nights. And for Ziggler, even having a match at WrestleMania would be a win.
