Fatal Four-Way

This match would pit Lacey Evans, Carmella, Naomi, and Bayley against each other and leave Sasha Banks to wait until SummerSlam for her big title match with Bayley.

I’d say the vast majority of wrestling fans would prefer to see singles matches for each of the main titles, and that’s especially true for the women’s championships. We only rarely see men’s main titles fought in multi-man matches at WrestleMania, and that’s only if the story makes perfect sense.

The problem with the story around the SmackDown Women’s Title is that they haven’t had time to build towards Sasha vs. Bayley as much as they’d like, while Bayley has already run through the likes of Naomi and Carmella in decisive matches.

So WWE could be forced to go with a Fatal Four-Way match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, hearkening back to WrestleMania 33 when both women’s titles were fought in multi-women matches before WWE wised up and stopped going this route.

This is the least satisfactory option, but since Bayley, Carmella, Naomi, and Evans have all been involved in the story of the SmackDown Women’s Title in 2020, WWE could choose to spotlight all of them. And then they could use that match as a way to branch off into a summer feud between Sasha and Bayley.

I’m not in love with it either, but it’s an option to think about.
