7. Chyna’s Debut
Chyna undeniably changed the game for women’s wrestling and how female performers were viewed in this industry and the WWE. She trailblazed all throughout her incredible sports entertainment career.
She debuted in February of 1997 and while she started out as an “enforcer” for D-Generation X, she moved on to show what she could do in that squared circle. Chyna was the first female superstar to truly go toe-to-toe with her male counterparts.
She was the first-ever female to qualify for WWE’s King of the King; she also once became number one contender for the WWE title (but then lost the spot to Mankind); she was a two-time Intercontinental Champion; not to mention holding the WWF Women’s title at one point.
Chyna didn’t just break through barriers for women; she punched her way through them with ease and truly placed a spotlight on herself, and as such, future female competitors that would come after her.
6. Trish & Lita Main Event Monday Night RAW
While the women regularly main event television shows and PPVs nowadays, and it may be seen as “no big deal” at this point; back in the day, it was unheard of for two female superstars to even close the show with a segment, let alone, a match.
The rivalry between WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita was a very special one; a feud that fans were truly invested in. They trailblazed for women back on Dec. 6, 2004 when they participated in the first-ever women’s match that closed Monday Night RAW.
