5. #GiveDivasAChance

Female superstars had been working so hard, for so many years, to be given the same opportunities as men; to get more television time to connect with fans; to be viewed as “talent” and not “eye candy;” to hit the center stage of WWE programming, and not be a side attraction.

But, as hard as they worked, it was truly the fans who helped to catapult these superstars into the spotlight. Well, a lot of things changed in 2015 after the Feb. 23 edition of Monday Night RAW, where the Bella Twins took on Emma and Paige in a match that lasted a mere 30 seconds.

Fans were so outraged that the WWE couldn’t spare more time for female talents that the #GiveDivasAChance hashtag started trending on Twitter. The people had spoken, and according to a tweet from Vincent Kennedy McMahon, WWE’s upper management was listening, and after this all went down, things truly began to change for female talents in the land of wrestling.

4. Sasha and Charlotte – Hell in a Cell

The year was 2016 and the females of the WWE were finally being given some concrete opportunities … well, two females within the WWE named Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair at least were.

Their rivalry saw them main event RAW, as they played hot potato with the WWE Women’s Championship that year. It also placed the them in a Hell in a Cell match, first women’s one ever, where they also got the bragging rights as the first two female superstars to ever main event a PPV.
