Tomasso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano Part 1000000 is genius not only because the babyface-heel dynamics are inverted but also because the WWE Universe deserved a definitive end to this rivalry, which they never received due to Ciampa’s neck injury from last year.
Henceforth, Johnny Gargano costing Tomasso Ciampa the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Portland was spectacular booking; although this bout won’t be for the NXT Championship like it should have been last year, there is still a way to raise the stakes and that is by booking a ‘Loser Leaves NXT’ match.
Both Ciampa and Gargano have been the centerpieces of NXT’s main event scene for a long time now, and one of them needs to leave this brand and venture out into the main roster before their rivalries with the NXT superstars grow stale.
Since Ciampa still wants Goldie to come home at some point and reportedly claimed that he will not move from NXT to the main roster, he should win this match so that Gargano, the heart and soul of NXT who has done just about everything possible on the yellow brand, can finally mix it up with the superstars on RAW and Smackdown.
