WWE: The IIconics returning to NXT after WrestleMania 36 could be the best move
The IIconics haven’t been wrestling in WWE since the Fall, and fans have missed them badly. Could they resurface in NXT in the near future?
We’ve seen several wrestlers head over to WWE NXT. Some of them have been one-off appearances, but others have been permanent switches – most prominently Finn Balor’s return to the Black and Gold brand where he once reigned supreme as champion.
There should be more moves coming, and WrestleMania 36 will even have an NXT match on the main card when Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair challenges NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley.
One potential move could involve the IIconics, comprised of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, heading back to the brand currently owned by The Velveteen Dream.

PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson reported that Royce and Kay were backstage at the latest taping of NXT television on Mar. 4.
While this isn’t an indication that the IIconics will be moving to Wednesday nights, it is an interesting development that could hint at a potential move.
We’ve kept hearing over the past couple of months about how creative doesn’t know what to do with Royce and Kay, which is somewhat laughable because, like, how do you not know what to do with one of the best heel tag teams in the world????
The IIconics are freaking hilarious and were one of the most well-liked teams in NXT!
Although it was great to see the IIconics on Raw and SmackDown, annoying the likes of Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Bayley, it would probably be better for them to go back to NXT. In NXT, they’d be among the stars of the show and could challenge for the Women’s Tag Titles from the Black and Gold brand, bringing the prestigious belts to the brand and elevating rising tag teams there.
The NXT Women’s Division is one of the most talented divisions in all of wrestling, so the risk is that Kay and Royce would add too much to the division on a two-hour show that doesn’t quite spotlight everyone. But is there really such a thing as “too much”? I don’t think so, especially when it involves the IIconics, who don’t need to ALWAYS be in the ring to be a factor. (Though they should be in the ring more frequently and are pretty good wrestlers!)
Royce and Kay could help lift up others in the division, add some dream rivalries, and, most importantly, have something substantial to do. WWE haven’t been using them at all over the past few months, and it hurts. They are too talented for this.
