AEW Blood and Guts: early match card predictions
Jon Moxley vs. Lance Archer
Despite feuding with The Inner Circle right now, Jon Moxley looks like the odd man out as far as where his placement on the Blood & Guts card is concerned. Can’t say he’ll defend his title on the show because the top guy among the men’s singles rankings (as well as numbers three and four on the list) are booked in the main event already.
Hypothetically, he could defend his title against MJF (ranked number two at the moment), but I feel like MJF vs. Mox could be saved for an actual Pay-Per-View. Meanwhile, I have other plans for the fifth ranked men’s singles wrestler. So what can the AEW Champion do on this PPV quality event?
Without a title to defend (perhaps he’ll defend it some weeks prior on a random Dynamite), Moxley could have a skirmish against AEW’s newest star: Lance Archer. He has yet to make his Dynamite debut as of this writing, but for many of us NJPW viewers, the last time we saw Archer was when Moxley beat the Murderhawk Monster at Wrestle Kingdom a few months back.
Archer could come back to take a bigger prize from The Lunatic Fringe, but without being high enough on the rankings system, he’ll have to settle on a non-title bout. Will EVERYBODY DIE (per his catchphrase), or will Moxley rack up a second win over Archer?
