WWE has hoarded a roster that includes some of the best talents in the industry. These names are examples of men and women who are grossly underutlized.

We live in a world where we are not “hurting” for WWE content. The promotion puts on seven hours of live content on television each week, not including the shows that are based on the WWE Network. With all their platforms and media channels, it’s frustrating for fans to watch as some individuals are frequently misused and underutilized.

There’s a wealth of talent on the WWE roster that is used or not used for puzzling reasons. Looking at that list, here are five individuals that can be better services than their current positions on the WWE roster.

Cedric Alexander

Remember when Cedric Alexander and Kota Ibushi tore it up in front of fans during the Cruiserweight Classic back in 2016. Fans begged Triple H to sign Alexander which he did on the spot to cheers from everyone watching. From there, he would become the cruiserweight champion for 181 days before dropping the belt to Buddy Murphy. How have things gone for him since then, not so great – that’s the answer.

This past Monday, Alexander was defeated by 24/7 Champion Riddick Moss in 2:10. That puts a stamp on his 2020 in which he’s won four matches nearly four months into the year. He’s toiled on Main Event and live shows trading wins and losses with others who are frequently afterthoughts such as Eric Young and Shelton Benjamin. Even though he’s picked up some wins on television, but Alexander has the potential to be so much more as we’ve seen in his time on the independent scene and early in the WWE.

Imagine if Alexander could go back to NXT to be a part of the third brand. He could have fantastic matches with any member of the Undisputed Era, Lio Rush, Swerve Scott and many others. The NXT tag team division needs some diversity so pairing Alexander with Scott or someone like Mustafa Ali would immediately energize that division. Alexander can work in a lot of different fashions, unfortunately the WWE has failed in leveraging him to the best of his abilities.
