The latest WWE rumor out there now is that Alberto Del Rio is on his way to making a return to the company. Don’t believe everything you hear, because it’s not true.

Recently, WWE rumor after WWE rumor has continued to circulate suggesting that former World Champion Alberto Del Rio is on his way for a third stint in the company.

Readers may recall that his first stint came to an abrupt end in 2014 after a racist encounter with a backstage employee who allegedly made a racist remark to Del Rio. When Del Rio slapped him in retaliation, it was labeled “unprofessional conduct,” and thus he was fired from WWE.

A year later, in October at the Hell in a Cell PPV, Del Rio returned and won the United States Championship in his return match against John Cena, but just under a year afterwards, both parties mutually agreed to part ways again. Del Rio himself said they ended on “good terms,” though several comments he made afterwards (both as a character and in kayfabe breaking interviews/live chats) say otherwise.

Most recently, Alberto Del Rio took part in an interview claiming that he was in discussions with WWE to return once again, which stirred up the rumors in question. The good folks over at Fightful did a little digging and learned that these rumors are BS. Literally. One of their sources is literally quoted as saying “Bull****!”

Another source told Fightful that WWE would not dare make Paige (Del Rio’s ex, for those unaware) uncomfortable by rehiring someone she was in a domestic dispute with (one where Paige admitted to agitating, with ADR being the victim).

The messy relationship between Paige and ADR is just one reason it’s good that these rumors are just rumors. That and ADR in general appears to be, well, messy. Let’s not forget that ADR is the same man who made several comments lambasting the company since he last left.

Among his inappropriate post-WWE behavior, it includes publicly disparaging Paige on Instagram for her troubles with the law and shaming her for being admitted into mental hospitals.

Regardless of how their relationship ended or who was in the right for whatever situations happened between them, slamming someone for their mental health struggles is uncalled for, especially when that person has been open about the scary extent to her mental health struggles.

All things considered, WWE rehiring ADR is just a bad idea overall.
