With WrestleMania 36 promised now to be a two night event, there seems to be a push for one of those nights to be headlined by Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler.

In his latest YouTube report, Tom Colohue said that internal discussions have been had regarding the respective main events of both Night 1 and Night 2 of WrestleMania 36. While it seems like Roman Reigns vs. Goldberg will main event at least one of those nights as long as Vince McMahon has his way, there has been deep talks about having Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler headline one of those nights.

Colohue mentioned that there was “strong support” for the Raw Women’s Championship being a main event for one of the nights. Prior to Colohue’s own report, WrestleVotes was able to co-sign this through their own link of sources.

As Colohue mentioned in a prior video, Reigns vs. Goldberg and Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar have been discussed as possible main events, but nothing except Reigns vs. Goldberg is locked in for now. Even then, Colohue mentioned that there was a serious push to make a Baszler vs. Lynch main event a reality.

Which, in theory at least, makes sense if Baszler vs. Lynch as a headliner actually came to fruition. After all, Becky Lynch not only partook in last year’s main event at WrestleMania, she won it. It would not seem out of place at all for Lynch to main event for a second year in a row. There is also enough investment in this feud and storyline from fans to justify the main event slot.

Plus, in the spirit of equality, it does not hurt to have a men’s main event for one night and then a women’s main event on the other night. We’ll see what happens.
