WWE WrestleMania 36: 3 reasons why Randy Orton should beat Edge
Payoff Needs A Crowd
By now, we all know and understand why both WrestleMania and the preceding shows leading up to this weekend are being held without a crowd. Truthfully, it could be argued that WrestleMania and all these preceding shows should be cancelled or postponed altogether, but I digress.
Out of concern for everyone’s safety in light of the novel Coronavirus outbreak, only a select few wrestlers and crew members will be admitted on the set of WrestleMania this weekend. While it all makes sense and is understandable, it is bittersweet just how much these changes have affected how this feud could be paid off.
The Edge vs. Randy Orton storyline has arguably been the hottest storyline on the road to WrestleMania to the point that it wouldn’t look out of place filling the main event for one of these nights. Unfortunately, it does not hit quite as hard as it did in January or February without a crowd to cheer and boo.
If Edge wins, then that likely signals the end of the feud – as would any case of a babyface beating the heel in a blowoff match – but a blowoff this big deserves a crowd. Let Orton win and save the finale for when all this blows over.
