Heel Heat

Randy Orton has become the Thanos of the WWE Universe. Not just because he has (in his mind) logical reasoning behind his most sickening and perverse actions, but that is simply just how over he is as a heel right now. Orton currently has more heat than even Raw’s top heel champion, Brock Lesnar, and top heel Crossfit enthusiast Seth Rollins.

Orton has emerged out of this feud more hated than he has been in years. Rather than use that heat to boost Edge with overwhelming adoration with a win, let Orton keep riding this heat train to see how far he can take it.

Sure, Orton is just a little past his prime at this point – meaning there likely are not many years left on his career – but this is clearly the most motivated, interesting and vilified Orton has been to the WWE Universe in ages. There is no telling when the next time it will be when we can associated any such combination of words in The Viper’s direction.

Rather than cap it off at Mania and then turn everything back to things being business as usual, take the opportunity to kick that heat up a notch. Fans will hate nothing more than if Orton ruined their beloved hero’s comeback match with a win.
