Sets Up A Heel Challenger for Drew McIntyre

Edge could beat Randy Orton when it is all set and done, but then what? Where does either man go after this? Orton goes back to the upper midcard putting over potential, future main event stars? Edge takes a break for a few months to fulfill his part time schedule?

While WrestleMania is always expected to be the final stop for many storylines, but there should always be a hint of where each Superstar could go next once the story ends. In this case, there are not many scenarios for Edge if he wins, but if Orton wins, he could use his elevated heel heat to catapult himself into the title picture.

Most people are expecting Drew McIntyre to walk out of WrestleMania as the new WWE Champion. McIntyre is going to need a new challenger to step up when Brock goes back on vacation, and Orton would be a good choice.

Similar to the post-Mania setting after Orton defeated Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 31 hours before Rollins won his own World Title, Orton has some past history with McIntyre to open up a new chapter into their feud. Orton beating Edge beforehand just helps justify placing Orton into that position as challenger.
