WWE: Ranking the Top 25 NXT TakeOver matches of all time
19. NXT Women’s Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: Charlotte (c) vs. Bayley vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks (NXT TakeOver: Rival, Full Sail University, 2/11/15)
Another top-notch Fatal 4-Way featured the fabled NXT Four Horsewomen before they reached the mythical stature they hold today. Before the Divas Revolution was in full swing or any of these women reached the main roster, they all squared off at NXT TakeOver: Rival.
Charlotte walked in as champion with the odds stacked against her, and ultimately that proved to be her undoing. Bayley and Becky Lynch had some great moments here, but this was the crowning of The Boss.
18. Extreme Rules Match: Aleister Black vs. Adam Cole (NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia, Wells Fargo Center, 1/27/18)
In the lead up to NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia, Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era prevented Aleister Black from earning an opportunity at the NXT Championship. As things heated up between them, NXT General Manager William Regal created this match.
What ensued was a real hardcore masterpiece. Aleister Black and Adam Cole are both top-notch performers, and this gave each of them an opportunity to illustrate that in a new way to the NXT audience. They did not disappoint.
17. Triple Threat for NXT Championship Match at Survivor Series 2019: Pete Dunne vs. Damian Priest vs. Killian Dain (NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL, 11/23/19)
Going into the first Survivor Series to include NXT, we got this huge triple threat to earn an NXT Championship Match the next night at Survivor Series 2019. I expected this to be a good match, but these three blew it out of the water.
Pete Dunne, Damian Priest, and Killian Dain took this opportunity and went all in. The dynamic nature of the triple threat was utilized in a fantastic way to highlight the strengths of all three competitors.
