WWE: 25 of the best moments in WrestleMania history

9. Steamboat Defeats Savage To Become IC Champ – WM 3
It was one of the best WM rivalries of all time; one of the best matches within the event’s history. But when babyface Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat defeated Randy Savage at WM 3, he not only won the Intercontinental Championship, but proved to everyone that sometimes the good guys can come out on top.
8. The First Power Couple Of The WWE Reunite – WM 7
While the ending of Randy Savage’s WM 7 match shouldn’t have been a celebratory one, as he placed his career on the line and lost it to the Ultimate Warrior, when Miss Elizabeth (known for her meekness) laid the SmackDown on “Sensational” Sherry to save Randy from the beatdown he was getting from her, it hit fans in all the feels.
Savage once again hoisted Elizabeth on his shoulders in the middle of the ring, and all was right (once again, for a moment in time) in the wrestling world.
7. The Austin (And Attitude) Era Begins – WM 14
With Shawn Michaels on his way out of wrestling (from back injuries), and Austin building momentum with the fans, the proverbial torch was passed that night, and the Austin Era was launched.
Maybe it was Mike Tyson officiating, or the fact that the WWE got a whole lot edgier with Austin as their roster leader; however, many also point this match as a changing point within the company, and the unofficial start of the WWE’s Attitude Era.
6. HHH, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker Walk Up The Ramp Together – WM 28
In many ways this was the ending to a story that started during WM 25, when Shawn Michaels set upon a mission to break The Undertaker’s streak, a feat that cost him his career, and almost cost HHH his sanity. HHH would subsequently challenge Taker during WM 27, and fail, and then once again at WM 28.
After an incredible Hell in a Cell battle, that saw Shawn Michaels as guest referee, Taker’s streak remained in tack, and all three men would walk away from the match, together, out of respect for one another. The image of them at the top of the ramp, is everything.
5. Rollins Cashes In – WM 31
No one wanted to see Brock Lesnar as WWE Champion at that point in time, and no one wanted to see Roman Reigns defeat him in the main event. Solution? Seth Rollins cashed his Money in the Bank briefcase, turning their singles match into a triple threat, making history, and pleasantly surprising the WWE Universe by walking away champion that night.
