SMACKDOWN Tag Team: Carmella and Naomi

If the last few months or so have taught me anything, it’s that we need more Naomi in our lives. There is a very good chance that she could win the Women’s title, so that would solve that and ruin this entry.

But, if she doesn’t win, I think it would be a solid decision to have her back on air more often. The benefit of the Women’s Tag Team division should be highlighting more performers and giving them the opportunity for air time. Naomi should get more because the Women’s division is lacking on both Raw and SmackDown. It also helps that she has really developed into a good in-ring worker, and she has always had the character and charisma.

A lot of these same qualities could be said about Carmella. She won a lot of fans over with her pairing with R-Truth, and she was positioned to win the Women’s Battle Royal win to Carmella, which shows the company likes her.

Pairing the two makes sense because of their history together. Revisiting that team gives them a bit of chemistry to build on, which could be a good story leading them to challenge the Champs.

When they recently fought against each other in February, it was a good reminder about their potential so developing an “opponent into tag” narrative could be fun. The two make an exciting duo to watch, and I would like to see them have another chance to develop their team.
