The Miz: A-Lister Annihilation

As mentioned above, back in 1996 Goldust — a living, breathing Oscar statuette, especially in his early days in WWE — faced Roddy Piper in a “Hollywood Backlot Brawl,” with prerecorded footage of the two battling on a movie set. After a low-speed chase featuring Piper driving a white Ford Bronco after Goldust’s gold Cadillac, the match finished in front of the live audience.

In 2020, who does one think of when they think of pro wrestling and movies? If you said The Rock, well, you’d be right, but I was thinking more of The Miz. The Hollywood A-Lister is no stranger to being in front of a movie camera or a rabid WWE Universe, and combining the two would be all too simple.

In this case, we’d need a row of movie star trailers — obviously, Miz would have the largest and nicest. A brawl could ensue throughout the various trailers, maybe even culminating with a cameo or two from a quasi-famous actor or actress. Perhaps Lucy Lawless throws a crudité platter at The Miz for barging into her trailer over the course of battle. Or Robert Patrick gives Miz an assist because he’s always playing a villain.

You could go full-bore, too. Besides trailers, you could have the whole backlot ready to go. Props, extras, crew members with A/V equipment — the whole nine yards. And it wouldn’t even need to be a specific opponent for The Miz — he’s the A-Lister, after all, everyone else is just trying to catch up. But if Miz and John Morrison, with their lengthy history, ever split up to go their separate ways, that would be a battle for the ages.
