New Day: Power of Positivity Match

When it comes to WWE superstars who are clearly enjoying themselves, New Day are usually pretty high on the list. Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods have spent the last several years entertaining fans and forming a friendship that is without comparison. And they did it all through the Power of Positivity.

Which is why they are perfect for a cinematic match. Think of all the things the trio has done without the benefit of pre-tape or CGI — giant boxes of cereal, pancake people, ice cream carts. Okay, sure, they’re all food-related, but there’s a lot to work with for the New Day here.

More from Daily DDT

First up: Xavier Woods’s love of video games means there could be a video game feel to any cinematic match featuring the New Day. Whether side-scroller like Battletoads, or combat-based like Mortal Kombat, or even first-person shooter like Doom, there’s no shortage of video game graphics and features that could be added. Heck, I’d pop if they earned coins for successfully attacking their opponents.

How about the foodstuffs? Maybe the pancakes could be a frisbee-based weapon inside the video game. Picture Big E just rapid-fire chucking hotcakes at Jimmy Uso and tell me that wouldn’t be incredible. How about Booty-O’s being like health potion? Kofi takes a beating, and needs to recharge — he needs to stop and eat a bowl of cereal and we watch as his HUD regenerates health.

Then there’s the unicorns. Xavier plays a tune on Francesca II Turbo — much like the Green Ranger summoning the Dragonzord — and a flock of CGI unicorns enter the arena to assist the New Day in their grand quest to spread the Power of Positivity across the land. Once enough of the WWE Universe is affected by that power, a series of rainbows fills the sky.

And who’s that sitting on one of the rainbows, reading a book? That’s right, we get LeVar Burton from “Reading Rainbow” to make a cameo because anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation.
