How bout a heel turn?

For years, especially during the height of Cena’s fame in the prime of his career as a full time star, fans were begging – and I mean begging – just to see the man turn heel one time. That time never came, but in knowledging that desire from fans, the Firefly Fun House match gave us the closest we will likely see of a John Cena heel turn.

Although, it may not be as unlikely know that it has been referenced onscreen. It actually calls back to Cena and Wyatt’s original feud from six years ago, where more than anything else, Wyatt was hell bent on forcing Cena to turn his hat to the dark side.

That dark side moment never came, but perhaps after getting a taste of what being a baddie feels like, going ballistic in an nWo t-shirt, perhaps the Cena character could have finally realized just how good it feels to be bad. Mind you, going full baddie on WWE TV in an nWo shirt might be a little too on the nose, but it could work if Cena leaves the shirt at home next time.

Plus, with the weight of being the company’s top babyface off his shoulders now, a heel turn seems plausible for a part timer now.
