WWE: 4 ways The Fiend could ‘change’ John Cena after WrestleMania
Completely new character
No, I’m not saying he’ll be going heel or even staying babyface. No, I don’t mean a return to form and back into an old character. I don’t expect Cena going back into working full time as the Doctor of Thuganomics or even the Prototype. I’m not even saying he could rechristen himself as John Triton to give us all the Marine sequel we all desperately deserve.
I’m saying that the next time that we see John Cena on WWE TV, he couuld arrive as something completely different.
There was something about the ending of the Firefly Fun House Match that just screamed “finality.” As if this was and will be the final time we ever see John Cena. Not Cena altogether (I don’t imagine he’s retiring any time too soon), but Cena as we know of him right now.
He may not continue his feud with Wyatt moving forward or even align with him, but with Wyatt practically being a walking, talking version of Broken Matt Hardy’s Lake of Reincarnation, Cena could come out of this whole ordeal as a reborn entity. Reborn into the latest evolution of his ever growing character.
But if all else fails, just repackage him as John Triton and give us The Marine Part 7. It’s what we deserve.
