MJF

After MJF picked up the biggest win of his career yet by defeating Cody Rhodes at AEW Revolution, everyone predicted the snobbish braggart to be on his way to becoming one of the company’s top heels, if not the top heel. And then … nothing happened.

Literally, nothing happened. No new feud or storyline for him to speak of. Granted, to be fair, AEW probably had full intentions of capitalizing on MJF’s big win with a big push, but a week or so after Revolution, a novel coronavirus decided to curb stomp America in full swing.

As everyone’s plans went about, many of AEW’s plans got pushed back or cancelled altogether. With MJF’s schtick usually demanding a crowd, since his character just bullies and talks down on fans all the time, it makes sense why AEW’s no-crowd shows relugated MJF to just a dude gambling with Shawn Spears.

AEW may have wanted to save MJF for when crowds return, but that timetable remains unclear. However, with the door now open for MJF to return, they may use him on television in more prominent roles moving forward.
