Hikaru Shida

Hikaru Shida was viewed early on as someone who was bound to be one of the figureheads of AEW’s women’s division as soon as she got signed, but went back to Japan after losing her debut singles match in AEW to Riho at the All Out PPV.

It was not until months later that Shida moved to the United States full time, thus beginning to work full time on AEW television. She continues to pick up huge wins, most recently getting a big win over Britt Baker on the last episode of AEW Dynamite.

Not only was that a great match, but considering that Baker herself had some projected potential as the future face of the AEW’s women’s division, that is big. Plus, for the longest time now, Shida has been the top contender on the list of the company’s top ranked women.

This means she is all guaranteed to get herself a title match with Nyla Rose and with the way her momentum has been as of late, we should not be surprised if we see Shida come out on top as a new champion before the year is over.
