Wrestling: The Revival’s new logo is absolutely sick
Now known as “The Revolt”, The Revival are ready for the next chapter in their professional wrestling careers with a new logo to go along with a new name.
The Revival were granted their release from WWE before the company released even more wrestlers during a pandemic. But in the cases of The Revival, who will now be referred to as “The Revolt” in this article, they weren’t being paid or wrestling anyway.
Although they can’t wrestle or sign anywhere right now, The Revolt have been taking steps toward the future by focusing on branding. Not only have they found an awesome new name as a tag team, but they have also changed their names to Dax Harwood (Scott Dawson) and Cash Wheeler (Dash Wilder).
Oh, and they have a new logo to boot. And it’s tremendous. Harwood tweeted it out on Sunday evening.
I love how the “RV” blend together, showing solidarity as letters in the same way Harwood and Wheeler always operate as a unit in the ring. They are in sync at all times, just as the letters in the logo are unified.
The letters “R” and “V” are the sharpest consonants in both “The Revival” and “The Revolt”, so it only makes sense for this dripping-red logo to utilize these two letters.
Black and red is a great color scheme for a no-nonsense tag team that is looking to inspire fear with their brutal, old-school approach. It’s easy to forget that The Revolt were one of the best tag teams in the world in NXT, putting on clinics with DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) and American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan). Their classics with American Alpha are worth watching time after time.
In wrestling, as with any other form of entertainment, it’s all about branding, but branding becomes especially important to independent wrestlers. And it’s even more important for wrestlers who were recently released by a major company to strike the right balance of still being familiar to their previous fan base and reinventing themselves for new products and different fans. It looks like The Revolt are striking both chords.
