WWE NXT Predictions: Velveteen Dream Will Win The Gold

2.) Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Io Shirai [NXT Women’s Championship]

As much as WWE NXT tried to advertise Io Shirai as a formidable opponent for Charlotte Flair, it failed to make anything unpredictable because the entire WWE Universe probably knows that Charlotte is retaining. This begs the question: Can NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair really make stars out of the NXT Women?

As my colleague, Christopher Jeter, expounded, “Charlotte Flair’s appearances haven’t drawn many new eyes on the show and her first two matches against NXT talent weren’t exactly star-making outings.” Quite frankly, it is clear that Charlotte Flair is too big of a star to lose to Io Shirai and the rest will speak for itself.

The only superstar who will very likely dethrone Charlotte Flair is Rhea Ripley in a WrestleMania rematch. Unlike the rest of the superstars in the locker room, she took Charlotte to her limits and thereby should win the championship back and have a longer reign than her first.

Prediction: Charlotte Flair

1.) Adam Cole (c) vs. Velveteen Dream [NXT Championship]

Although there is controversy behind some recent allegations made against Velveteen Dream, the booking is clearly leading to Dream’s first NXT Championship. Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era have done all they could in NXT and need to be called up to the main roster after MITB.
