Lance Archer will face Cody for the TNT Championship at AEW Double or Nothing on May 23.

On last week’s Dynamite, Lance Archer beat Dustin Rhodes to advance to the TNT Championship tournament finale. By doing so, he kept Rhodes from facing his brother once again with a brand new title on the line. Archer’s primary goal has been stopping Cody.

Since arriving in AEW, Archer and his manager, the legendary Jake “The Snake” Roberts have been gunning for Cody. Roberts referred to “The American Nightmare” as Caesar in his AEW debut.

He goads Cody every time he gets the chance because he wants to take him down and use Archer to do so. Roberts has history with the Rhodes family, so it only makes sense that he set his sights on the youngest Rhodes family member.

Roberts may want Cody taken out more than Archer does. Still, Archer is the man for the job. He’s a monster and wants to make a name for himself in AEW. Roberts can easily command him his client to do his bidding. It’s a win-win for both, Roberts can have another Rhodes family member taken down while Archer establishes himself as someone to be feared.

Beating Cody to become the very first TNT Champion would just be icing on the cake.
