Jake’s Snake Taunt needs to be Punished

I know it was meant to be controversial, I know it was meant to make us feel disgusted and violated, but I hated that segment. Old man Jake on top of a knocked out Brandi with his snake around her. Ugh, it still makes my skin crawl.

AEW is no stranger to big, controversial moments (the defenseless chair shot). Even though, I don’t like them and feel there is no place in professional wrestling today, it happened. The scene was set, and this happened in their ring.

The worst part? Cody didn’t even show up to scare them off. The announcers said the locker rooms were far away from the arena, trying to explain Cody’s absence, but it wasn’t enough. Cody was present to see Dustin fall, he should have been there to see Brandi on the floor.

For AEW creative to make this decision and go down this path, in my eyes, you need to ensure a Cody victory.

Cody has already gone through a lot, in terms of the MJF betrayal and now this feud. We have constantly seen Cody be robbed of opportunities of redemption. Now, we are at this Cross Rhodes (I know, I know, sue me).

I will say this clear as day: if Cody doesn’t beat Lance Archer, it will excuse and reward Roberts behavior against Brandi. This cannot happen.
