WWE Money in the Bank 2020: 3 reasons why Bayley should retain vs. Tamina
The fans aren’t quite behind Tamina yet
Tamina made her return to SmackDown mere weeks before this year’s WrestleMania and after a valiant (but failed) effort to win the title at the show, she was positioned as a babyface with a new push as Bayley’s next one-on-one title challenger.
This push for the former 24/7 Champion is still relatively new and so the fans have not gotten incredibly behind Tamina as their next potential WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion. That does not mean that her push has failed or that Tamina did anything wrong or even than fans will never gravitate towards her.
Stuff like this just takes time and just over a month’s worth of time is not enough time to sell people on the idea of Tamina as champion. If she does win the title one day, it needs to be at a time when Tamina is going to be showered with love and praise from fans for finally dethroning Bayley after a year at the top.
If not, then the moment itself will flop. Tamina’s moment in the sun could still come, but Money in the Bank is not that moment. Not yet.
